About Ms. Christie
Molly Christie grew up in Morgantown, WV and began studying violin at age eight. She discovered her passion for teaching while in high school. She went on to pursue a degree in music, completing her B.A. in Music at Thomas Edison State College. She continued to study violin with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony while maintaining a private studio.
She earned her M.M. in Violin Performance from the West Virginia University School of Music, studying violin with Mikylah McTeer and viola with Andrea Houde. She specialized in French chamber music and string pedagogy as well as taking string pedagogy classes at the Peabody Institute.
Ms. Christie is a Level 3 certified Suzuki violin/viola instructor. She has held multiple strings teaching positions including public school, preparatory programs, and university teaching at West Virginia University and Waynesburg University.
She is currently the string orchestra director at Moorestown Friends' School. Ms. Christie maintains an active private studio, teaching students ages 4 through high school. She also enjoys an active performance career in chamber music and orchestral playing in both the US and Europe.
